The instrumentation system integrates virtual instrument, wireless network, internet, web server, data base server, and client PC. The communication among different modules is through general packet radio service(GPRS)and world wide web, and the dynamic flicker information on the power line is post on the proper web page whish is produced by JSP. So, the responsible operator of a power line can effectively realize the flicker conditions including different flicker components, equivalent flicker index , and their trends during long-term measuring period. The prototype of the system was tested at different locations inside and outside the lab, and the results illustrate that the performance of the enhanced algorithm is better than the conventional method; besides, the on-line flicker indices can be successfully transmitted to the data base, and continuously updated on the web pages.
