Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 環境工程學系所 === 95 === The purpose of this study was to investigate arsenic pollutants in the ambient in Taichung Science Park of central Taiwan, where High-Tech businesses started up since July, 2003 and led the advancement and prosperity of central Taiwan. Arsenic compounds were used extensively in the manufacturing process of semi-conductor, opto-electronics and glass industries, was emission of the compounds to the atmosphere may cause the local environmental, ecological, social and economical changes. Though there isn’t any explicit regulation on arsenical control around the world, based on the concern of polluting prevention, the research was to gather the data of ambient arsenical concentration measured in Taichung Science Park Zone to examine the present distribution and concentration of arsenical level. Through the investigation in February 2007, the concentrations of arsenicals at 6 sampling sites ranged between 3.71 - 5.51 ng/m3. There were measurement 3 sites incidating the arsenical concentrations were reduced as compared to those in 2006, but still higher than 2005’s. The ambient zone of Taichung Science Park measured from 2005 to 2007 has shown the arsenicals lied between 0.5 - 31 ng/m3. The assessment of exposure risk, compared to the US EPA announced the inhaled inorganic arsenical carcinogen, indicated that higher exposure under such environment was still hazardous to our health. The findings of 2007 in Taichung Science Park compared to those in Hsin-Chu Park weren’t much difference, but still lower than the average concentration in Hsin-Chu Park. When compared the yearly average concentration of U.K. and Australia, it showed a higher concentration level. Therefore, it was strongly recommend that the aesenical concentration of suspended particulates in Taichung Science Park, in order to protect and maintain public environment, health and welfare.
