This study presents the process of thermal error testing. Analyze the issues of spindle thermal displacement upon the temperature, and build a spindle thermal displacement model by using multiple regression method. A microcontroller module is developed to deal with the model and communicate with the CNC controller, and compensate for the CNC controller by shifting the zero point of the machine coordinate system.
