Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 交通管理學系碩博士班 === 95 === This study seeks to discuss the safety management and safety performance of ferry services in Taiwan. Five safety management and three safety performance dimensions are identified based on factor analysis. These five safety management dimensions are “safety equipment and safety inspections”, “supervisor safety concern”, “safety education and training contents”, “employee safety perceptions” and “safety education and training recognition”, whereas three safety performance dimensions are identified as “accident investigations and safety improvement”, “equipment inspections and safety regulations” and “the frequency of accident rate”. This study also used clusters analysis to classify respondents from ferry services companies into three groups, namely, “ship safety and supervisor concern oriented companies”, safety education and training oriented companies” and “employee safety perceptions oriented companies”. The findings indicated that the ship safety and supervisor concern oriented companies have the best safety performance.
