The purpose of this study investigates on whether or not combining the theory of the multiple intelligences with the researcher’s practice of the cooperative learning has significant improvements on students’ learning attitudes.
By using the methodology of the action research, this research undertook on the subject of the second-grade students taught by the researcher. The design of teaching activities incorporated the multiple intelligences with cooperative learning. In order to evaluate the outcomes of teaching for improvement in the design of teaching, the collection of data emphasized on quality as well as quantity. The sources of data included WIHIC, a questionnaire on cooperative learning, scores on school monthly examinations, activity examination table, interview records with students, and work-sheets.
The outcomes of research demonstrate:
1. The subject holds positive views on cooperative learning.
2. The design and practice of researcher’s teaching activities has a positive interaction with the study atmosphere in class.
3. The researcher’s teaching has very little impact on the improvement on the scores of the monthly examinations, but shows a tendency of a positive influence.
4. The theory of combining multiple intelligences with cooperative learning provides students diversity of activities and proceeds many-faceted learning.
