In the beginning, the MPR410 sensor is selected to connect the groundwater gauge. The sensor transports data into gateway using multi-hop topology. Owing to the short transport distance, the necessary power of sensor is small. Second, the mid-station uses the embedded system and general packet radio service (GRPS) modem to save and transport data into base station. Finally, the base station uses web to display the precipitation and groundwater level. This study uses the unified modeling language (UML) to process the requirement analysis, system analysis and design, and finishes the program connecting precipitation/groundwater gauge and mote board, the program joining gateway and embedded system, transporting program from mid-station to base station by GPRS modem, socket program receiving data, database establishment and web station program. In the same time, this study builds a test site to practice the unit test and combination test, which includes the test of the system stability, power consumption of battery and solar power supply performance.
