碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 森林暨自然資源研究所 === 95 === Study on preferences of tourists towards different Landscapes of artificial forest in Sitou Forest Recreational Area Abstract This study aims at understanding the tourists ’ preferences towards five different artificial forest landscapes and opinion for Canopy Walk inside Sitou Forest Recreational Area by questionnaire from tourists . 391 effective samples are analyzed by ANOVA in this study. The results shows there exists significant difference between education level of tourists for ‘beautiful forest landscape with natural shape of stand’; the age, occupation and resident place for ‘unique and beautiful foliage with seasonal changes’; the age, education level and resident place for ‘clean and clear scenery under forest’s canopy’. Opinion for Canopy Walk indicates visitors with different occupation and education level shows significant differences. Second, the result indicates there exist different preferences among five lanted forests in Sitou Forest Recreational Area for gender, marriage and income of tourists ; those with high school education level prefer Chamaecyparis formosensis; tourists who live in foreign prefer for Cryptomeria japonica and Phyllostachys pubescens . Besides, tourists with other occupation shows significant difference towards “facilities in surrounding forest” .The results indicate tourists show different preferences towards diverse artificial forest. With abundant diversity of landscapes that can meet the needs for the public, Sitou Forest Recreational Area provides a good resort for all tourists to visit and enjoy.
