碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 家庭教育研究所 === 95 === The study was to discuss misconception and discrepancies in filial cognition and conduct for the junior high school students. To investigate the circumstances of students’ filial cognition and conduct, the 1017 students from junior high schools in Chiayi city were the participants. “filial cognition and conduct questionary” had been mainly carried out in the study. The schemes of “Within-Ability-Concern index (W*)” and the “Beyond-Ability-Myth index (MB)” were applied to discuss misconception of filial. Meanwhile, the data were analyzed with the methods of the “MANOVA, t-test and Stepwise Multiple Regression”. The important finds in the study are as follows. 1. For the filial cognition, the differences between girls and boys/ public and private schools/ religions were significant. The girls have the higher filial cognition than the boys. The students without any particular religions have better filial cognition than those who have their own religions. 2. In the aspect of the filial misconception, the difference between girls and boys was also noticeable, and the boys averagely have more filial misconceptions than the girls. 3. The more filial misconception the participants get, the fewer filial conducts they have. 4. Regarding the discrepancies in filial cognition and conduct in gender, the boys’ discrepancies are more than the girls’. 5. With the conditions of the gender, the religions, and the filial misconceptions, the discrepancies in the filial cognition and conduct were predictable. The suggestions for the filial education and the future studies were provided in the paper according to the findings, which can be the references for the family education, schooling and the further researches.
