He had lived through the periods of Manchu Dynasty, Japanese colonization and the Kuomintang government. Wang dedicated his life to the classical poem and left many poetic classics which are worth to appreciate by the posterities. The present study focuses on Dong Ye Wang and his artistries of Chinese classic poem. By analyzing the relative researches of Dong Ye Wang, the inner meaning of Wang’s poets and his rhetorical art at the same time, this study not only describes the thoughts revealed by Wang’s Chinese classic poem literature but also interprets his contributions toward passing on the Chinese classic literature in Yunlin area. There are seven chapters included in this research. The motivation, the purpose and the methodology of this study are described in the first chapter. In the second chapter, the background of Dong Ye Wang’s literature creations is introduced. The edition, the order of arrangement, the subject matter and the style of Dong Ye Wang’s “The Poem Draft about a Chinese Scholar Trees’ Ground” are discussed separately in the third chapter. The rhetorical art of Dong Ye Wang’s Chinese classic poem is analyzed in the fourth and fifth chapter. The skills of Dong Ye Wang’s Chinese classic poem’s rhetorical art then are elaborated in the sixth chapter. Finally, the characteristics and the values of Dong Ye Wang’s Chinese classic poem’s rhetorical art are summed up in the seventh chapter. Keywords: Dong Ye Wang, Chinese Classic Poem, Rhetorical Art
