Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 教育學系碩士班 === 95 === From the qualitative research approach, this study, taking a reentry student, who shares the dropout process and the school adaptation in the alternative classroom and the adolescents care institution. Besides, this study collects information through semi-structured interviews in which a teacher in the alternative classroom and a counselor in the adolescents care institution are interviewed individually. The research hopes to collect their understanding of the reentry students, the present status of the alternative classroom and the adolescents care institution, and their observations of the student’s adaptation to school. During the process of the investigation, firstly, I collected the data through interviews and document analysis, and I tried to check and analyze the data afterward. The conclusions are following: 1. The present status of the alternative classroom. (1)Doing guidance counseling to boost self-understanding, self-acceptance, and then promote life adjustment ability of reentry students. (2)Develop adaptive education courses, create successful experience and make reentry students be able to make self-achievements. 2. The present status of the adolescents care institution. (1)The counseling goals of the counselors are helping reentry students to correct problematic behaviors, to make the changes, to graduate from the school, and to facilitate healthy self-esteem. (2)The elements that influent the developments of guidance counseling in the adolescents care institution include the inexperience, unrealistic expectations and leaving job of counselors. 3. The dropout process of reentry students. (1)The violence and divorce of parents are the main factors for the students’ dropping out. (2)The personal connections supports are the source for helping reentry students to adapt the school life. 4. The adaptation of reentry students in the school. (1)The spontaneous reentry students will adapt school life better than those are not back in school by their own will. (2)Students have different interactions with different teachers. Students trust the homeroom teachers and the counselors most because they receive more care and forgiveness from them. 5. The successful strategies of reentry student counseling. (1)The whole school faculty participates in guidance service and concerns about dropouts together. (2)The establishment of reliable relations between each other makes the defense dispelled. And the counseling treatment can work while all people involved are willing to be honest. (3)We should establish the complete guidance net and use multiple ways to support the reentry students. According to the findings and conclusions, the researcher will provide suggestions for the administration institution, the school administration staff, teachers, and future study.
