The network is a newly-developed media which combine technicalization, socialization, education melting with such multi-functional propagating the media new developing and informationization, etc. Besides bringing the facility, it also brings negative influence on students. The students of National Tainan Girls' Senior High School serve as for this study. The purpose of the study is to understand subjects whether and the use of the Internet characteristics of quality, will vary depending on the elective groups. The main findings of the study are : when the subjects use the Internet, there is a high frequency of visiting the website, downloading the audio-visual archives and doing the on-line viewing of films. What’s more they most often go to the engine-searching sites, and what they search for is mainly film-based entertainment. Most of the subjects have used the Internet more than five years. They learn how to use the Internet mainly through self-exploring and consulting their friends. Compared with the students of the natural science group, the ones of the social science group have a wider recognition of the Internet’s help both in learning and in academic area. They also hold a more positive attitude toward the Internet. The students conider that the Internet help them mainly to absorb new knowledge, search for information, entertainment, communication and have an exchange of information.
