Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 教育學系碩士班 === 95 === This study aimed to explore the situation of cram schools for the elementary school students in Pingtung City, managers’ managing belief and strategies, and to realize the function and the problems of these institutions. The survey data were collected from 72 managers of cram schools in Pingtung City based on a self-developed questionnaire, and interviews with 6 managers and 3 teachers. The main findings were as follows: 1. Managing belief (1)To make price reflects the quality of teaching and service; (2)Accent on the stability of the members of the teachers and students; (3)To face the competition positively; (4)To build the parents as customers’ satisfaction and loyalty; (5)To create self characteristics. 2. Managing strategies (1)To make price flexibility; (2)The plan of the curriculum and service are changing if necessary; (3)To create core competence through promoting equipment and teaching materials; (4)Keeping the teachers with open management; (5)Marketing by way of the parents’ advertisement and giveback. 3. In Pingtung City, some cram schools for the elementary school students and After-school Care Center will displace the family function to protect and care children. 4. In Pingtung City, the main problems following the emergence of cram schools for the elementary school students and after-school care center The problems arising from are the issues of register, the pedagogic responsibilities of elementary schools, the duties of parents and overemphasizing grades.
