Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 音樂學系碩士班 === 95 === The purpose of this research was to investigate the self-evaluation about the counseling capabilities of arts and humanities teachers who are homeroom teachers in junior high school in southern Taiwan, to understand the trouble which they suffered from and their solutions to these problems, to survey the factors which affect their willing to be homeroom teachers. By all described above, the researcher hopes to know their real situation and problems as homeroom teachers. To achieve the objectives, the researcher utilized the self-designed questionnaire, “The Status Quo of The Arts and Humanities Teachers on Homeroom Teacher’s Counseling,” as an instrument to survey the arts and humanities teachers involved in the affairs of the homeroom teachers in the public junior high school and the comprehensive middle school in southern Taiwan. The survey got 117 valid samples, and the rate of return hits 84.17 percent. All the data obtained was analyzed statistically by percentage, mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, and Scheff’s Method. Lastly, conclusions were presented as follows: 1. Due to the perspective of credentialism, the teachers and parents emphasized on the schoolwork counseling, which in the fact that the arts and humanities teachers who serve as homeroom teachers can not obtain admiration from both inside and outside of the school. 2. The performance of the consultations offered in school was greatly influenced by the parental discipline attitudes. 3. The arts and humanities teachers demand more appreciation and respects from school administration. 4. The arts and humanities teachers should seek self-growth on the capability of counseling. 5. The arts and humanities teachers must set up responsive strategies in face of the changes of education-related regulations and institutions. Finally, according to the findings, suggestions are proposed for the administration, the future arts and humanities teachers and future researches to be references for future implementation of tutor counseling.
