Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 中國語文學系碩士班 === 95 === Summary of the Thesis of Tung Li's Adolescent Novels Abstract Among the four great masters in Mandarin adolescent novel arena, Tung Li, Wen-hsuan Tsau, Chih-lu Chang, and Shih-hsi Shen, Tung Li plays a very important role in Taiwan adolescent literary arena. Li rises abruptly in 1980s, and reaches his writing summit in 1990s. He not only infuses entertainment and education into his writings, but also keeps faith with concerning for adolescent feelings and native ethnicity. Since his striving for innovation in contents and expressive skills, he can be regarded as an ace in Taiwan adolescent literary arena. This text aims at probing into the themes and artistic expression in Li’s novels, and evaluates his influence and value in the history of adolescent literature in Taiwan. This thesis is divided into six chapters; the content is as follows: Chapter One, ‘Introduction’ states the specialities of adolescent novels, and the overview of adolescent novel history in Taiwan. It also analyses relevant research results of Li’s adolescent novels, including research limitation and summary of this thesis. In Chapter Two, it concerns about the background and writing ideas of Li’s adolescent novels, inclusive of his growth environment, life experiences, and writing initiation in order. In Chapter Three, there are six subjects about the themes of Li’s adolescent novels. They are ‘self-fulfillment’, ‘interpersonal harmony’, ‘criticizing social phenomenon’, ‘concern for native ethnicity’, ‘paying attention to cultural inheritance’, and ‘protecting ecological environment’. Chapter Four is about ‘the artistic expression in Tung Li’s adolescent novels. I analyze the artistic characteristics of Li’s novels by the characterization of the characters, arrangement of the conflict plots, and the application of contradistinctive skills. Chapter Five is about ‘the meanings of beginning and growth in Tung Li’s adolescent novels’. Education meanings of Li’s novels could be affirmed through three aspects, setting up correct philosophies and values, learning human natures about love and forgiveness, and treasuring culture of native ethnicity. Chapter Six, the ‘Conclusion’ sums up the whole achievement of Li’s adolescent novels, and evaluates his influence and value in the history of children's literature in Taiwan.
