This study simulated an inundation situation using the FLO-2D program along the Tungkang creek. The simulation modeled two rainfall events, the torrential rain on June 12, 2005 and the Bilis typhoon in 2006. In addition, a small village, Sinyuan village, was used as the example. The simulated results were compared to actual field results. According to the simulated results several useful flood mitigating strategies can be proposed.
