The results help teachers to understand the misconceptions of students’ programming. This result of can also be as a reference to teachers’ instruction in the conception of computer programming and assessment. The research samples are the second-grade students majoring in Data Processing at 15 vocational schools in Kaohsiung County, Kaohsiung City, and PingTung. The total population number is 669. This study adopted literature review and relevant materials for analyzing instructional material of, and teacher interviews collected students’ misconception strategies. The instrument of this study also develop “Two-phase Basic Conception for Computer Programming Test.” The collected adopted t-test, ANOVA, andχ² analysis. The research findings are as follows: 1. The average score of total students is 12.9. There are 341 students’ scores below the sampling mean. 2. There are 42 misconceptions and 28 kinds of possible factors in this time examination. 3. There are significant different between genders to the whole basic conception in computer programming. Female students’ score is superior to male students, and it shows that males have more misconceptions than females. 4. There are significant different between students’ who pass Class C of computer software Test. and showed better grades than in “Two-phase Basic Conception for Computer Programming Test” than those who failed. 5. Students from different district schools have diversities in the basic conception of whole computer programming. After comparison, the ranking of schools where the students having more misconceptions study is Bingdong>Kaohsiung County>Kaohsiung City. 6. Students from different socio-economic status family have no apparent diversities in the basic conception of whole computer programming, and it shows that the learning of basic conception in computer programming won’t produce the enormous differences owing to the resources which family can supply. The conclusion and suggestion help to understand the misconceptions on the second-grade students majoring in Data Processing at vocational schools of Kaohsiung City, Kaohsiung County, and Bingdong. And they also provide teachers the references of instruction and assessment.
