Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 社會科教育學系碩士班 === 95 === Abstract This research aims to examine the change and the development of Dadu Township in Taichung County after World War Ⅱ.The reason the researcher chooses Dadu Township as the category is based on Dadu Township being the earliest developmental area in the middle of Taiwan. In addition, the researcher also finds that Dadu Township was located in the critical site of transportation in Netherlander’s diaries and the travel notes of Yu yong-he. At that time, ferries of Dadu River were used to communicate the north and the south in Taiwan. Up to the present, the role which Dadu Township plays in transportation site is not more important than before, yet it is still the pivot that Sun Yat-Sen Expressway and the mountain line and the coast line of Taiwan Railway meet. Besides, the Shatian Road(The first Taiwan Provincial Road)in Dadu Township not only connects Sun Yat-Sen Expressway and Formosa Expressway, but also is the main road of goods transport of Taichung Harbor. On the strength of the critical transportation site, Dadu Township plays a very important role in the dissemination of industrialization and urbanization in Taiwan. After the war, in order to accommodate the urbanization and modernization in Taiwan, the social structure of Dadu Township had changed from a conventional countryside to a newly risen county on the basis of industry and commerce. There had been a new change in administrative division, population structure, industrial structure, modern construction, religion, culture and education, etc. The purpose of this research is to discuss what Dadu Township has changed and developed in these domains after World War Ⅱ. Moreover, the researcher hopes to facilitate the spread of Dadu Township’s local education based on the findings of this research. At last, the researcher sincerely invites all countrymen to think about how to make the specific culture and feature of Dadu Township continue, so that a whole new living space can be created under the impact of industrialization and urbanization.
