This thesis tends to explore sentence patterns as materials in teaching. And its object is the arrangement of sentence patterns of Taiwanese teaching materials at elementary schools’ dialect courses. First, based on the documents of former scholars and my analysis of sentence patterns in Taiwanese teaching materials, this thesis, on the one hand, proposes the sentence patterns suitable to be used as teaching materials. On the other hand, this thesis categorizes them in the hope that they can be helpful when people need to compile Taiwanese teaching materials on sentence patterns. It also tries to build up a bridge between Taiwanese and Mandarin, which is based on the concept of Mandarin sentence patterns. This thesis attempts to make a thorough inquiry about various kinds of Taiwanese sentence patterns, and then make a contrastive analysis with Mandarin. Through sentence patterns, this thesis provides both teachers and learners a better understanding about the difference between Taiwanese and Mandarin as well as about so-called “language” itself. During the process of language teaching, both compiling sentence patterns in Taiwanese teaching materials and teaching Taiwanese with sentence patterns can systematically help students understand the derivative process of sentences. They can also help students learn syntactic rules and build up semantic concept in a natural way. Thus, it may help students achieve the ultimate goal of learning Taiwanese in four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Chang-Mo Hsu 許長謨 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 215 zh-TW
