Also the differences among the personal background variables(gender, grade and gifted students and regular students). The samples are 466 gifted students and 164 regular students from elementary school in Tainan city, Tainan county and Kaohsiung city. “The Prosocial Behavior Questionnaire”and“the Emotional Competence Scale for Children” serve as researching tools. Through the statistic method such as means, standard deviation, independent samples test, One-Way analysis of variance, Pearson product-moment correlation and analysis of stepwise regression are applied to analyze the data.By using the〝Interview Outline of Students’ prosocial behavior in Elementary School〞as another researching tool, five students who get the most and less grades are the interview.Moreover, triangulation of data method is performed. The outcomes are as following: 1. The general prosocial behavior performance and emotional competence of the elementary school’s gifted students are in the middle level. 2. Gifted female pupils are superior than gifted male pupils in terms of emotional competence. 3. Gifted female pupils are superior than gifted male pupils in terms of prosocial behavior. 4. There is no differences in prosocial behavior and emotional competence of gifted students as a result of grade. 5. Gifted students are superior than regular students in terms of emotional competence. 6. No significant difference is discovered in the prosocial behavior scores in terms of the variance of class. 7. There is significant related between the prosocial behavior and emotional competence of primary gifted students. 8. The emotional competence of the elementary gifted students can well predict their prosocial behavior performance. 9. The emotional competence of the elementary gifted students can well predict their prosocial behavior tendency.
