Methods: The ten subjects were recruited randomly from the patients of metabolism department of certain hospital. The average age was 50±2.2 years old, average height was 161±3.6 cm, the average weight was 68.8±4.2 Kg and the average body mass index was 26.5±1.1 m/kg2. The subjects participated in the study in consecutive two days. For the first day, they were not arranged exercise but to be drawn blood samples for glucose and insulin at the point of 0, 10th , 25th ,55th minutes as control group. For the second day, they received exercise and blood sampling at the same point of time as experimental group. The exercise pattern was whole body vibration stimulation. The frequency and amplitude was set at 30Hz and 2mm respectively. The subjects received vibration stimulation for one minute with one minute rest for 5 times. Totally two sets of 5 times vibrations were exercised with 5 minutes break between the two sets. During the period of the experiment, the medication and daily lives were as usual but the breakfast was controlled the same in timing, amount and content during the two days period to prevent the bias. Besides the blood glucose and insulin, the heart rate and blood pressure were recorded as well during the procedure. The statistic method was the dependant sample, one way on-cova. Results: 1.The blood glucose reached significance compared with non-vibration stimulation at the point of 25th minutes.(P<0.05).2. Blood insulin did not reach significance whatever the timing is. 3. The intensity of exercise of this protocol was estimated to be 60% according to method of maximal heart rate calculation. 4. The highest systolic pressure was 154.4 mmHg and the highest diastolic pressure was 92.3 mmHg, which were safe for NIDDM patients who were aged around 50. Conclusion: The blood glucose reached significance after 25 minutes vibration stimulation exercise when compared with non-vibration stimulation status. And under the pattern of such frequency and amplitude, it was a moderate intensity, high safety exercise. In the future, the vibration stimulation exercise may go toward the trend of long term training method to see if it can provide more evidence of its effect on NIDDM patients. none 龔憶琳 學位論文 ; thesis 37 zh-TW
