Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育經營與管理研究所 === 95 === The main purpose of this study was to understand the factors of retirement decision, the life arrangement and life satisfaction after retirement of early retired elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City. Questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview were adopted in this study. A self-designed, “Questionnaire of Retirement Decision and Life Arrangement of Early Retired Elementary School Teachers in Kaohsiung City” was used as instrument. The subjects were 320 early retirement elementary school teachers by purposive sampling. Valid questionnaires were 258 with valid rate of 80.6%. The collected data were analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage and Chi-square test. There subjects of interview were eight early retired teachers by purposive sampling. According to the above results, some conclusions were as follows: 1. The main factors of early retirement decision were personal reason and retirement system reason. 2. The retirement system should be continuity and the government should avoid about-face. 3. The percentages of re-employment of retired elementary school teachers were low. 4. The retired teachers engaged themselves in volunteer works which were related to education or culture. 5. About half of retired teachers participated in learning. 6. The major recreational activities of retired teachers included sports, traveling, reading and watching TV. 7. The retired teachers considered that health is the most important thing. 8. Most retired teachers were satisfied with the life of retirement. 9. Most retired teachers were satisfied with the retirement system of 18% deposit interest rate. 10. The “fifty-five project” wasn’t accord with the real situation and should be abolished. 11. Parts of retirement system were not rational and the age of compulsory retirement should be revised. According to the above conclusions, some suggestions were offered to the educational administrative institutions and elementary schools as follows: 1. To the educational administrative institutions (1)The change of retirement system should be announced after the system was confirmative to avoid teachers’ panic. (2)The retired teachers could be settled in the education-related organizations by part-time employment to bring professional skills into full play. 2. To the elementary schools (1)The elementary school should offer related information and service to teachers as the change of retirement system. (2)Schools should actively offer courses of retirement planning and encourage retired teacher to join it (3)Schools could get united with social educational institutions to offer retired teachers more channels for learning.
