Advances in English words learning deepen our understanding on which levels students in. There were 763 students sampled from 6th grades to take CEWRPA. Three facets included in CEWRPA are recognition word in identifying pictures, matching pictures in recognizing word, and recognition word in sentences. The average difficulty (p value) is .76 for the norm. The correlation coefficients between CEWRPA and concurrent related variables such as English Word Recognition Test, school English score are around .65 to .76. Three difficulty levels were adopted to describe students’ performance. Around 25.2% 6th graders performed below the basic level. Generally speaking, more students (75.8%) preferred CEWRPA better than conventional test. Around 76.5% students thought the pictures presentation is helpful for their recognizing English word. The Preliminary results suggest that CBT will be a productive alternative for English word recognition assessment reform. Hsiu-Shuang Huang 黃秀霜 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 96 zh-TW |
