The Method of this research was first base on analysis of a collection of literatures. Then interview seven quitter of serious leisure with informal conversation interview method including mountaining, biking and rapier participaints. Results showed that the reasons of quitting serious leisure lay in the changing of life course, which made it different in weighing costs and rewards, therefore redefining the priority of all the leisure activities, and made the once top-priority activities no more. There are three conclusions of this research. The first conclusion was participants quit serious leisure due to the priority changes resulted from when the positive feedback were lower than other leisure activities. Second, the factors caused quitting was the changing of life course. Third, the process of quitting start from the effect of quitting factor caused the change of weighting cost and reward and the core leisure activities. It suggested that serious leisure participants could extend serious leisure by adjusting the way they did it. Furthermore, researches were suggested to center on the effect of life course on leisure. Besides, we could develop serious leisure inventory and measure fit our demand base on results overseas.
