The purpose of this study is to confer the effect on time management and achievements of learning on music talented students in elementary schools. And then propose the suggestions according to the study results for reference in teaching counseling.
The researcher mainly uses” the examination paper about the music talented students in elementary schools” to investigate, does a specimen for the 5thand 6th graders who study in the music talented classes in elementary schools, and uses Windows SPSS 10.0 to gather statistics. The data analysis methods include descriptive statistics methods, t-test, one way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. In the meanwhile, we interview parents to assist the questionnaire.
The major findings of the research show:
1. The situations of time management behavior of the music talented students in elementary schools in Taipei County are:
(1)The performance in time management variables shows:”the capability
of arranging the priority in order” is the best; while “the capability of
setting the aims” is the worst.
(2)The capability of time management is “medium degree”. But if the
score is qualified by 60, the performance is not good in it.
2. In comparison with different “genders”, it shows significant relationship with musical achievements of music talented students in elementary schools.
3. The relationship between time management and achievements of learning on music talented students in elementary schools shows:
(1)The better capability of time management is, the higher the subject
achievements of learning are.
(2) The better capability of setting the aims is, the higher the subject
achievements of learning are.
(3) The better capability of consciousness of controlling time, the
higher the musical achievements of learning are.
4. When the parents use “authoritative” way toward their children on time management, the children will perform better in achievements of learning.
5. Time spent in practicing major studies and minor studies on music
talented students in elementary schools shows:
(1)Time spent in practicing major studies on Saturdays and Sundays has a
significant relationship with school subject achievements of learning.
(2)Time spent in practicing minor studies from Mondays to Fridays has a
significantly negative relationship with school subject achievements of
learning.
(3)Time spent in practicing minor studies on Saturdays and Sundays has a
significant relationship with school subject achievements of learning.
