Undeniably, Internet provides us much convenience for communicating. However, on the negative side, Internet also brings out the negative impact of uninhibited behavior on computer network. Computer-mediated communication (CMC) can contain more interpersonal conflict, such as flaming, hostile comments, insults. Prior research seldom touched on the topic of conflict in cyberspace. For the reason, interpersonal conflict and the effect on gratification and well-being was explored in this study. The data was collected from college age students and examined by the regression analysis. The research findings showed: (1) Cyberspace interpersonal conflict is caused by negative effect of CMC, cognitive difference, negative emotion, and aggressive behavior. (2) Cyberspace conflict is negatively related to gratification (3) Cyberspace conflict is negatively related to well being. (4) Involvement and gratification have an interaction effect on gratification and well-being. Through the discovery of this study, we may know the causes that led to conflict and the influence of cyberspace interpersonal conflict linkage. As for the implications, we suggest that online mangers should attempt to establish an effective communication channel and prevent conflict behavior from reducing gratification and well-being.
