Thus, the target which passes the specifications of the conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) can be achieved with a simplified filter design. To obtain the transformer construction design for reducing the common mode noises, the noise sources and the conduction loops are analyzed first. A good transformer construction design with correct PCB layout leads to the best result. Finally, each transformer with a different construction design is applied to an 18W flyback converter with only a differential mode filter, and the improvement of the common mode noises is evaluated by measuring the results of the conducted EMI.
