Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 設計研究所 === 95 === Information industries are the main momentum of economic growth in Taiwan. In the review of the development of information industries in Taiwan, many manufacturers raised the techniques of private product and production through outsourcing, enabling the manufacturers of information industries in Taiwan to own the high innovation ability and to obtain the No. 1 worldwide in the capacity of few items. The mouse is one of the items containing the mastery techniques and production capability. Also to innovate the technically mastery items, the industrial design plays the key role in product design strategy. The industrial design contributes to product design strategy, like searching/seeking the neglected consumers through differentiation strategy or distinguishing the segmentation of items in follower policy. This paper probed the role industrial design plays in “product design strategy” and took the mouse as the example through the literature analysis and interviewing the senior designers in 7 domestic computer peripheral manufacturers, concluding the following findings: 1. Due to the maturity of the mouse technique level, the mouse manufacturers in Taiwan employ industrial design to distinguish the differentiation of product and utilize the private core technique to develop the high-profit products. 2. The manufacturers adopting follower strategy avoid the identical shape of product via industrial design. 3. The middle/high mouse in Taiwan mouse industries elaborates the innovation value of differentiation in industrial design.
