The study uses the “Elementary Students Behavior Annoyances and the Correspondent Strategies Scale” as the tool and the children of the new immigrants in Taichung as the target for questionnaire surveillances. There are 248 valid samples being collected. The major results are as follows: The overall behavior annoyances of the new immigrants’ children are not serious. Yet the annoyances on self-concern are relatively grave. When behavior annoyances arise, the new immigrants’ children often choose to face them with a positive attitude rather than to harm themselves or others. In the background variables, those children living with their parents, their parents’ educational level under junior high school, with father aged over 41, and their mothers originated from Southeast Asian countries, tend to have higher behavior annoyances. The background variables on different grades, sexes, birth orders, and the ages of their mothers show no significance. As for their correspondent strategies, children in different grades, sexes, birth orders, living conditions, ages of parents, educational levels of parents, and nationalities of mothers come out with no signiticant differences. Based on the study, I’d like to present the following suggestions are provided: The new immigrants’ families should give more support and assistance to their children, and they should face the annoyances together with the children. Schools should work on character and affective education so that the children can develop more positively in the society. Schools should also give adequate consultation to those who need it. More multi-cultural elements related to the new immigrants should be added to the current curriculum. Moreover, schools should enhance the self-assertiveness of the new immigrant’s children and increase their trust bond with teachers. The government should distribute the educational resources more fairly, and help the new immigrants carry out functions of their parental education. The mass media should report more positive and hearty news, and build up a supportive network for the society. Juei- Chin Lee 李瑞金 2007/06/ 學位論文 ; thesis 157 zh-TW
