Therefore, sydnonyl-substituted heterocycles and sydnonyl substituted thiosemicarbazones metal complexes were synthesized in this study. The text is divided into three major parts. In the first part, the syntheses of many kinds of heterocycles were studied and. The sydnonyl-substituted thiazolidine derivatives were produced in high yields by the modified Knoevenagel condensation of 3-aryl-4-formylsydnones with thiazolidine -2,4-dione , 2-thioxo-thiazolidine-4-one and 1,3-diethyl-2-thiobartituric acid. In the second part, the syntheses of metal complexes derived from thiosemicarbazones were divided into three sections. (A): The syntheses of thiosemicarbazones of 3-aryl-4-formylsydnones and 2-(diphenylphosphino )benzaldehyde. (B): Treatmant of 3-arylsydnone-4-carbaldehyde thiosemicarbazones with potassium tetrachloropalladate or potassium tetrachloroplatinate to give the desired corresponding metal complexes. (C): The 2-(diphenylphosphino)benzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone was used as starting material which reacted with potassium tetrachloropalladate or potassium tetrachloroplatinate to give the desired metal complexes. In the third part, the pharmacological properties of all the synthesized compounds were studied by three methods: (A): evaluation of antibacterial and antifungal activities; (B): evaluation of antioxidant activity-scavenging effect on DPPH radical; (C): evaluation of antitumor activity-MTT method.
