Therefore, in the thesis I tried to discuss the trap into two parts as deployment and control: Phase of Deployment : To take a single trap as a “machine” which may tempt animals. Phase of Control: To look on traps as methods, behavior, or mechanisms of luring and hunting. According to the thesis, I deployed separately four heterogeneous traps, which may catch the birds, fish, ships, and human beings, at the strategical position to the main accesses. The four traps are set in order to bait the organisms and attract them into the main site of the design. And by connecting the four strategical locations , a concealed network forms and controls the biology to insensibly lose their ways and not able to perceive the complete site and activities, but only aware the fragment of the landscape. Therefore, by using ”Ecology Capture” as seducing people/ animals into the designed path and alter their original biological network, the ecosystem will then attain to a new form of dynamic balance. And this is the main goal of “Ecology Capture” What is Ecology Capture? It means with the use of trap to achieve the goal of attaining 3 status of gradually changing the ecology of the surroundings. [Ⅰ. The adjustment of domain borders and activity paths of human and living creatures] [Ⅱ. Introduce new ecology activities into the surroundings.] [Ⅲ. To create (a type of ) circulation mechanism that is about the adjustment of surroundings.] Facing the complex relationships between the ecological environment and the human activities, we should re-examine our concept of the landscape design. Instead of dealing with the form of the superficial layer only, we should consider the nature and activities as a dynamic whole . Trap, in this project, demonstrates the possibilities to be a powerful design tool.
