This system is built with two main units: the signal processing unit and health evaluation unit. The former one, which consists of front-end ECG signal amplification circuit, electrocardiogram (ECG) signal acquisition circuit, USB power supply circuit, and control circuit, is featured a lower cost compared to the similar commercial product. The latter one is a software tool developed on the PC for evaluating user’s health based on the calculated heart rate variability (HRV). The Visual BASIC 6.0 is employed to develop the ECG feature acquisition unit and the USB interface. The developed system supports data analysis, real-time heartbeat display, illustrations of time-domain and frequency-domain ECG, calculation of heart rate variability, and presentation of health evaluation result.
