Many of his works are related to love. He has never got married in his life, but his nature was essentially romantic. As the result, it is loney and depressing from his music. Zigeunerlieder Op.103 was Johannes Brahms’ late work which is composed during the years of 1887 and 1888. The lyrics of this work were from Hungary gipsy minstrelsys which were translated into German. Eight pieces of Zigeunerlieder Op.103 contained one main topic which is about love. It included that moaning the misfortunes about losing lovers, painful heart, delight falling in love, experiencing various taste about love , reminiscing the past impressive and unforgetable love. The contents of the study state the development of German. Art songs and forms first.Secondly, it introduces biography of Johannes Brahms and his style of his works. In addition, the study state the origin of gipsy songs , its development and characteristico of Zigeunerlieder. Morover, I also study on musical elements, composing methods, lyrics meanings and interpretation. By researching this topic, I hope to enter the song world of Johannes Brahms and have appropriate performance Zigeunerlieder Op.103.
