What was the relation between Beardsley’s works about feminine image and the circumstance? Did Beardsley’s feminine image have any significance? Why did his works cause violent criticism? Why could he make works of varied styles, with complicated lines in his fleeting life suffered from tuberculosis, even when he was seriously ill? These questions mentioned above comprise the main topics in this research. We come to the conclusion: Illustration is not a kind of “great” art. It is at the edge of the art history, but Beardsley made it worthy and artistic. Therefore, Beardsley’s illustration is not the explanation of the words but a kind of “re-create” art .
