higher education between Nordic countries and Taiwan to be the
reference resources of establishing Taiwan’s higher education evaluation
mechanism in the future. First, the theory the concept, and the
connotation about the evaluation mechanism of higher education will be
put into probe. Second, the connotation and the current performance
about the evaluation mechanism of higher education will also be
introduced to promote understanding about this mechanism. Then, the
connotation of the evaluation mechanism of higher education between
Nordic countries and Taiwan will be compared. Finally, concrete
suggestions to promote the development of Taiwan’s higher education
evaluation mechanism will be proposed according to the analyzed results.
These proposed suggestions can be the reference resources for higher
education, universities, and administrative organizations of education.
The following conclusions has obtained by adopting comparative
research method developed by G. Z. F. Bereday.
1. European countries and Taiwan should develop individual quality
insurance mechanism to be suitable for individual higher education.
2. Four countries in Nordic as well as Taiwan have evaluation mechanism
of higher education in difference duty and property.
3. To prompt education and research qualities is the main target of the
evaluation mechanism of higher education of Nordic countries as well
as Taiwan.
4. The content and the standard of evaluation mechanism are similar
between Nordic countries and Taiwan, and it can be classified into five
items.
5. The evaluation mechanism of higher education of Nordic countries and
Taiwan includes self-evaluation and site visit.
6. It is approximate the same in dealing with the result between the
evaluation mechanism of higher education of Nordic countries and
Taiwan.
7. The result application is different from the evaluation mechanism of
higher education of Nordic countries and Taiwan.
8. The developments to the evaluation mechanism of higher education of
Nordic countries and Taiwan are different.
9. Self improvement mechanism to improve the educational quality is
included in the evaluation mechanism of higher education of Nordic
countries as well as Taiwan.
10. The evaluation mechanism of higher education of Taiwan is divided
into seven steps so far.
Based on the major findings, the study provides suggestion for
administrative organizations of education as reference of policy-making
and further research.
