It was exactly the same case happens in the tennis field, even for the racket strings. To boost the durability and the utility of racket strings, related researches and development about the string materials are proceeding. The research was to study the attenuation of the racket strings after fatigue and destruction tests. The experiments are conducted on the Dynamic and Fatigue Test Systems, with diameter 1.25mm strings of 3 different kinds of materials, the synthetic GUT, the polyester, and the Nylon. Sensors are used to collect the attenuation and destruction data of the racket strings after the stretching tests. From the data collected from the experiment, the synthetic GUT has less attenuation rate of 0.021. The polyester with attenuation rate of 0.031 runs the second place, while the Nylon ranks the third with 0.033. The experiment calls for long time fatigue tests, which is required to certify the attenuation of the strings, for the tension of the strings doesn’t have dramatic difference after each stretching test.
