The OCP measurement was showed no different when the organic-Si was added to trivalent chromium baths. And all the steady time were fall on 60s. Both AC impedance and FE-SEM were certainly showed the superior corrosion resistance performance when the organic-Si was added to trivalent chromium baths.
In heat treatment test at high temperature 150℃ and(or) 200℃. The SEM showed no crack and(or) cavity on the chromium conversion layers , even if after high temperature heat treatment at 150℃, so the chromium conversion layers still has excellent corrosion resistance. Conversely, crack and(or) cavity on the chromium conversion layers were generated, when the high temperature heat treatment at 200℃
By means of TEM, we found that a homogeneous chromium conversion layers was formed. And the XPS measurement was certainly showed the existence of Si-compound in chromium conversion layers. Deduced that added organic-Si to trivalent chromium baths, which defend the heat concussion, and resulting in the corrosion resistance advanced.
