In this research, qualitative data is analyzed based on two linguistic theories, speech act theory and frame semantics. This study has identified some important differences between ordinary language and legal language in both lexicon and syntax. Furthermore, since legal language is based on legal frames, it is easy to be misunderstood by common citizens. This study thus hopes to be helpful to ordinary people in understanding legal language more accurately. Hsin-hwa Wu James H-Y. Tai 吳信華 戴浩一 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 119 zh-TW
