Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華技術學院 === 飛機系統工程研究所 === 96 === The performance of a three dimensional Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) model was analyzed by the computational fluid dynamics analysis software CFD-ACE+. The main objective in this study is to examine the influence of the baffles position and baffles thickness on the mass transfers and the performance of PEMFC. By varying the position and thickness of the baffles in a straight channel PEMFC, the distributions of the local current density, fuel flux and water vapor are well examined under different operating conditions. The straight channel PEMFC performance can be analyzed by the fluid dynamics analysis software CFD-ACE+ of its three dimensional model. The Taguchi method was applied to study the optimized lengths and positions of the baffles, which can improve the fuel efficiency, and then to increase the whole performance of the battery. In the analysis, the Navier-Stokes equations, the concentration, electric density and the electrochemical equations were solved. Results show that with the optimized baffles, the fuel cell efficiency can be improved dramatically.
