This problem makes the original designed drainage system cannot be able to funtcion as it is sopposed to be and it not only causes flood to people but also influences people’s lives and properities. In the past, in order to improve the situation of overflow of sewer, the caliber of rain water sewer had been enlarged and the flood detention pond had been established in the attachment area. Those two devices created new problems as followed; first, the overload of downstream, second, the detention pond started to store rain because this device cannot surpass the load of drainage system due to the insufficient rain intention. This also brought the result that the running of flood peak could not be stored so that the result of improving the drainage system was inefficient. In order to understand the present situation of existing regional drainage system, the drainage system of Hsinchu has been considered to be an object of study in this thesis. Building a drainage model by using Storm Water Management Model (also called SWMM ) as an imitative and analytic tool and designing storm water as an input condition in order to simulate the overflow situation of manhole in regional drainage system. After understanding the problem of regional overflow, the detention pond and inflow manhole design can be added so that the value stimulation by using various cases can be started. Thus, the problem of overflow which caused by incapability of the drainage system could be improved.
