RoHS directive have been carried out since July, 2006. Among these 3 directives, RoHS has a greater impact on the export-oriented electronics industries in Taiwan. According to interviews with two system manufacturers, they have figured out strategies for RoHS directive; however, improvement can be expected. But some other system manufacturers have not actively responded to RoHS and worried that whether their suppliers can implement the green product management or not. Thus, compliant to RoHS directive and demand for green issues become a necessity for enterprises. As technology advances, the needs for life quality and standard perfectness also increase. Product design is no longer function oriented. An irresistible general trend to involve environmental impacts into product design is thus formed when consumers have ever changing demand and are more aware of environmental protection. Design management, as an essential part of this green supply chain, has even greater influence on the quality and life of products. Therefore, this thesis targets on system manufactures in info-electronics industries, focuses on effective management on life cycle of products, and defines green design management. A reference model of the green design management and control system based on GPMS-HSPM is developed. Proposals are made to improve the existing working flow of those system manufacturers that have already adopted green design, and to those system manufacturers that have not completed or well-prepared for green design control. Through Use Case View and Process View of Unified Modeling Language (UML), this thesis also demonstrates the work flow and functions of green design control system. Finally, system analysis documents, database model and user interface are demonstrated for related industries in building a new system or bettering the existing one.
