The study was conducted by means of questionnaire surveys. The participants were all the directors of the general affairs of the elementary school in Taoyuan County. Among the 187 mailed questionnaires, 165 were valid. The statistical procedures used in this research were mean, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and Canonical correlation. 1. The level of job stress of elementary school directors of general affairs in Taoyuan County is not high. Among all the aspects, “overburden” and “lack of professionalism” are the highest. 2. The sense of organizational commitment of the elementary school directors of general affairs in Taoyuan County is above the average . Among all the aspects, “willingness to work hard” is the highest. 3. There is no significant difference in job stress of the elementary school directors of general affairs in Taoyuan County with different backgrounds. 4. There is no significant difference in organizational commitment of the elementary school directors of general affairs in Taoyuan County with different backgrounds. 5. There is a mid-negative correlation between job stress and organizational commitment of the directors of general affairs in Taoyuan County . 6. The job stress of the directors of general affairs in Taoyuan County has a significant effect on organizational commitment. Finally, according to the findings above, suggestions are offered to the educational administrations , school principals, directors of general affairs, and future researchers.
