碩士 === 朝陽科技大學 === 企業管理系碩士班 === 96 === The National Health Insurance was implemented since March 1995, Over the years because of implementation of this insurance policy, it has resulted in malignant competition of hospital and made the change in the medical environment rapidly. So it brought the greatest impact to each public hospital management. At the same time, the governments budget reduced year by year, so the public hospital will make great strides forward to the self-sufficient management. If the hospital medicine and medical material can be effective managed, the cost of management can be reduced largely. The objective of this study was to discuss medical material management situation and the question in the hospital operating room by case research, and inducted bar code to the medical material management. Then analyzed cost and benefit of the system. The case of this study was induct the bar code system to a teaching hospital operating room’s medical material management, and to find the key factors to induct the bar code system. Finally, the results can refer to the hospital superintendent. This research findings are as follows： 1.Inducts the bar code system can reduce operating cost to 76.9%, and reduce wrong accounts to 92.1% large scale. 2.As for the hidden benefit of this research, the degree of contribution of bar code system from great to low is： （1）Shorten the flow of management. （2）Enhancement data conformity. （3）Establish standard of work. （4）Promotes the quality of work. （5）Enhances the morale to staff. 3.Enhances the accuracy of inventory to 99.48%. 4.Reduces the cost of stock to 24.67%.
