Description
Summary:碩士 === 朝陽科技大學 === 幼兒保育系碩士班 === 96 === The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among children’s temperament, parents’ rearing attitude, and school readiness. The method used in this study was survey research with questionnaires. There were 279 senior level kindergarten children served as subjects from 6 kindergartens chosen by random cluster sampling in Chung-hua County. The instruments used in this survey-based investigation included “Temperament Assessment Battery for Children”, “Parents’ Rearing Attitude Questionnaire”, and “the Checklist of School Readiness”. The collected data were further analyzed with descriptive statistics such as means, standard deviation, and inferential statistics such as multiple regression analysis and canonical correlation. The research results were summarized as follows: In terms of the performance frequency of Temperament Assessment Battery for Children, the senior level kindergarten children fell on “seldom” to “usually”. In the Parents’ Rearing Attitude Scale, there were four subscales , “confidence”, causation”, “acceptance”, and “understanding” fell between “not sure” to “agree”. Children’s temperament and parents’ rearing attitude existed canonical correlation. As to the checklist of school readiness, the expression in the three subscales of “the ability of self-management on daily life”, “the ability of language expression and communication”, “the ability of social and personal relationship” fell between “very agree” to “strongly agree” ,and the others, “learning ability” and “the ability of motor skill” fell between “sometimes agree” to “very agree”. As to the relationship between children’s temperament and school readiness, the “adaptability” and “approach-withdraw” can effectively predict “the ability of self-management on daily life”; the “activity” can effectively predict “the ability of social and personal relationship”. Using parents’ rearing attitude to predict school readiness, there was only “the ability of language expression and communication” can effectively be predicted by “acceptance” and “confidence”. So as to the relations among children’s temperament, parents’ rearing attitude, and school readiness, the results showed “acceptance” was the only one variable can effectively predict total scores of school readiness; “the ability of self-management on daily life” and “children’s temperament” exited relationship, especially on “the adaptability” and “the approach-withdraw”; “the ability of language expression and communication” had something to do with the parents’ rearing attitude, on the “confidence” and “acceptance”; it exited relationship between “the ability of social and personal relationship” and “children’s temperament”, specifically on “activity” and “emotional intensity”; there was relationship between “learning ability” and the “confidence”. Finally, according to the research results and findings, this study also provided some suggestions to the pre-education, the transition education from kindergarten to primary school, and future related study in this field.
