Four kinds of crops, pear, tea, strawberry and grape, are examined. According to the minimum growth temperature and loss experiences at the low temperature, we set up the injured temperature. We then calculate the pure premium and the capital reserve required for insurers using MPY method. The result find that most of the pure premiums for crops we studied are below 3% except strawberry, which was incurred serious loss due to low-temperature in 2005.
