Especially when the happiness of life has become a hot issue recently, such as Lohas (live happily) or live slowly, it has shown that busy work load leads to pressure and consequently results in the decease of happiness and health. This study was focused on female nurses to discuss on the relations among work pressure, leisure coping behaviors and sense of happiness or well-being. 315 valid sample respondents in this study were female nurses who were purposively selected from hospitals ranked regional or above for data collection. The measurement tools of「occupational stress」,「leisure coping strategies」and 「sense of well-being」were applied to design questionnaire for the survey in this study. The analytic results were shown as followings: Hypothesis 1: Female nurses’ age, marital status, income and hospital level would significantly relate to their occupational stress. Hypothesis 2: Only female nurses’ age would significantly relate to their leisure coping strategies. Hypothesis 3: Only female nurses’ marital status would significantly relate to their well-being. Hypothesis 4: Female nurses’ frequency of participation in leisure would significantly relate to their occupational stress. Hypothesis 5: Female nurses’ leisure coping strategies would significantly relate to their sense of happiness or well-being. It may indicate that leisure would let them easily have sense of happiness or well-being. Hypothesis 6: Occupational stress would negatively affect female nurses’ sense of happiness or well-being. In other words, the higher the occupational stress is, the lower sense of happiness or well-being would be. According to the study results stated above, it is found that there were only partial relations among respondents’ social economic attributes, occupational stress, leisure coping strategies and sense of happiness or well-being. However, if the relations among occupational stress, leisure coping strategies and sense of happiness or well-being were examined, then it is found that first, the frequency of participation in leisure would lighten the occupational press; secondly that leisure coping strategies would increase sense of happiness or well-being, and last occupational stress would decrease the sense of happiness or well-being. Therefore, it is important for hospital authority to pay attention to female nurses’ leisure participation frequency and their leisure coping strategies. Some suggestions were also presented for the references of hospital authority and future researchers. Wen-Tsann Yang 楊文燦 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 114 zh-TW
