Summary:碩士 === 佛光大學 === 社會教育學研究所 === 96 === The research aims to discuss the degree of stereotypes about children from families with spouses of foreign origin made by higher grade students in elementary school in Yilan County. The questionnaire method is adpoted on the research. Self-made questionnaires were distributed for grades fifth to sixth elementary school students in Yilan County to answer. There are totally 1108 effective questionnaires. The data collected from the questionnaires underwent statistical analysis through SPSS12.0 for Windows coverall software. Accorging to different research hypotheses, analyses were made by descriptive statistics, such as taking an average and standard deviation; t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the differences of stereotypes about children from families with spouses of foreign origin made by students with various backgrounds. By using Pearson product-moment correlation, the connections among the impressions of living adaptation, family and personal status, and academic performance were analyzed. Finally, multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the causes which effect the impressions of academic performance.The data have been analyzed to reveal the following results: I. The higher grade students in elementary school in Yilan County have positive stereotype impressions on children from families with spouses of foreign origin. 1. The higher grade students in elementary school in Yilan County have positive academic performance impressions on children from families with spouses of foreign origin. 2. The higher grade students in elementary school in Yilan County have positive living adaptation impressions on children from families with spouses of foreign origin. 3. The higher grade students in elementary school in Yilan County have positive family and personal impressions on children from families with spouses of foreign origin. II. The higher grade students with different background variables in elementary school in Yilan County have different impressions of academic performance, living adaptation, and family and personal status on children from families with spouses of foreign origin. 1. The higher grade students with different background variables in elementary school in Yilan County have different impressions of academic performance on children from families with spouses of foreign origin. i. No apparent diversity in the impressions of academic performance was made by the higher grade students from different grades, genders, family status, and social and economic status ii. Apparent diversity in the impressions of academic performance was made by the higher grade students from different resident areas, maternal nationalities, levels of interrelationship, or academic performance. 2. The higher grade students with different background variables in elementary school in Yilan County have different impressions of living adaptation on children from families with spouses of foreign origin. i. No apparent diversity in the impressions of living adaptation was made by the higher grade students from different grades, maternal nationalities, levels of interrelationship, family status, and social or economic status ii. Apparent diversity in the impressions of living adaptation was made by the higher grade students from different resident areas, genders, and different academic performance. 3. The higher grade students with different background variables in elementary school in Yilan County have different impressions of family and personal status on children from families with spouses of foreign origin. i. No apparent diversity of the impressions of family and personal status was made by the higher grade students from different grades, genders, maternal nationalities, levels of interrelationship, family status, academic performance, or social and economic status ii. Apparent diversity of the impressions of family and personal status was made by the higher grade students from different resident areas or levels of interrelationship. 4. The impressions of students’ living adaptation, family and personal status, and academic performance are positively related. i. The impressions of students’ living adaptation and academic performance are medium level positive related. ii.The impressions of the students’ family and personal status and academic performance are medium level positive related. 5. The impressions of the students’ academic performance are apparently predictable by using the variables of individual background, family background, the impressions of living adaptation, and family and personal status. The conclusions and suggestions are made according to the results of the research, to serve the government and educational related staff as reference to further relevant research.
