Summary:碩士 === 佛光大學 === 未來學系 === 96 === The purposes of this study were to investigate the motivations、barriers and future development of participating in the in-service education for junior high school and elementary school teachers, and to examine the relationships among motivations and barriers of participation in different background variables. Literature review was used to establish a basis for the research theory. Next, according to the literature review, inventory include motivation orientations and barrier factors of in-service education, were created as instruments for gathering empirical data. The subjects of this study were mainly taken from junior high and elementary school teachers of Yilan County. 1,000 teachers were taken as samples of this study. The results of questionnaire survey were processed and analyzed through the statistical methods and Force-Field Analysis model. Conclusions of this study were summarized as follows: 1.The junior high and elementary school teachers have six types of motivations of participation in the in-service education, among them having the strongest to be the aspect of`Cognitive Interest as the others in order, Professional Development, Pursuing Achievement,Social Relations,Influence by other person, Escape/Stimulation. 2. The barriers factors of the in-service education included , unit, and orientation. The situation was the strongest barrier and the orientation is the weakest. 3. The motivations of junior high and elementary school teachers’ participation in the in-service education were different because of their differences in age, teaching stage,marital status , service age, choice of training place, training state and training will . 4. The barriers of junior high and elementary school teachers’ participation in the in-service education were different because of their differences in age, teaching stage,marital status , service age, choice of training place, training state and training will . 5. Junior high and elementary school teachers’ motivation in participating in the in-service education was significant correlated to barriers. 6. Teacher whose age below 30 years, unmarried, under five years of service seniority, showing interest to universities and colleges outside the Yilan County, having a higher participation level standards. Finally, suggestions and future research direction are presented to educational administration institution and school administration personnel based on such conclusions.
