The subjects of the present study are 395 graduate students at Fu Jen Catholic University, including 150 males and 245 females whose average age is about 25-years-old. The results of the present study include, first of all, graduate students from Fu Jen Catholic University showed an average level of sense of attachment and career decision-making, and tended to reach identity achievement status. The aspect of attachment and ego identity, students who have better quality of attachment with their parents tend more toward foreclosure and identity achievement. Having a better quality of attachment with a father suggests a tendency for foreclosure. Having a better quality of attachment with a mother suggests a tendency for identity achievement. Furthermore, as for attachment and career decision-making, the attachment is associated with career decision-making. The better quality of attachment with parents, the better ability of career decision-making seems to result. Having a better quality of attachment with a mother, results in a better ability for career decision-making. However, attachment with a father is irrelevant for career decision-making. As for ego identity and career decision-making, students who tend toward identity achievement seem to have a better ability for career decision-making. Students who tend toward moratorium, foreclosure, and identity diffusion have a lower ability of career decision-making. Last but not least, the relationship between attachment and career decision-making is mediated by ego identity. However, it thought different ego identity status affects the correlation between attachment and career decision-making. A correlation of father attachment toward career decision-making could be adjustable through foreclosure; the correlation of mother attachment toward career decision-making could be adjustable through identity achievement. Regarding different genders of graduate students, the relationship between male-graduate students’ father attachment and career decision-making is mediated by foreclosure and identity diffusion; female-graduate students’ father attachment has no influence on career decision-making, and there are no other mediation factors between them. Moreover, the relationship between male-graduate students’ mother attachment and career decision-making is mediated by identity achievement and foreclosure; the relationship between female-graduate students’ mother attachment and career decision-making is mediated by identity achievement. In this light, the correlation between attachment and career decision-making could become significant through ego identity status and the influence of attachment doesn’t disappear for career decision-making. Attachment is achieved through ego identity, which affects career decision-making indirectly. More interestingly, father, mother and male-female graduate students come out with different consequences. This shows the different influence of parents upon the two genders. 楊康臨 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 108 zh-TW
