| Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 景觀設計學系碩士班 === 98 === University campus is not only a place to learn new knowledge but also a place for teachers and students to spend their daily life. Therefore, outdoor open space should be comfortable and suitable for campus social life. The setting and design of sitting space often influence the social behaviors on campus. The research on sitting behaviors in the core public space on campus can provides a basis to improve the environment. This research stands on user's perspective to explore campus environment. It aims to raise improvement proposal for Fu Jen Catholic University campus in order to make better public space on campus for users.
The research objectives are as follows：
(A) To analyze users’ sitting behavior patterns on Fu Jen Catholic University campus.
(B) To understand the users’ preferences of sitting and the potential place to stay on Fu Jen campus.
(C) To intervene environment, by experimental design to test the user's behaviors and found their needs to reduce the gap between design and use, to explore the feasibility of this method.
The research based on empirical study to involve environment operations. It brings up a process for experimental, flexible, and progressive on-site experiment in order to reduce the gap of needs between designers, managers and users. The process can bring out proposal for a more appropriate program. The research for sittable environment on Fu Jen campus can understand the setting of facilities (including location, environmental characteristics, setting and materials) often affect the user tendency. Good sitting environment can help improve the quality of overall environment.
The research integrates empirical survey and measurement, behavior observation and image recording method to analyze the user behavior and preferences in Fu Jen University campus. The results bring out a feasible improvement proposal for communication and, through a process of readjustment for minor changes, lead to a more desirable design improvement.
