The shortage of nursing manpower makes a great impact on the development of nursing especially even the intention of working and the satisfying degree of their work. The purposes of this study include: (1) to understand the contents and time distribution of nursing work, (2) the working intention and the satisfying degree about their work, (3) to analyze the related factors about intention of nursing work. A cross-sectional study method and purposed sampling was conducted. A Valid questionnaire (Cronbach’s α: 0.8~0.85)was used and one hundred subjects’ data were collected in Taichung regional teaching hospitals. All collected data will be analyzed through SPSS 10.0. The Results of this study revealed that: (1) the mean daily working time of nursing is 9.5hours, the direct care time had proportion about 51.67%, indirect care is 25.73%, related care is 15.95%, and personal time is 6.65%. (2)Besides, the mean score of working satisfaction is 66.6 points/100 points and the mean score of working intension is 22.88 points/36 points. As a result, the whole mean score of working satisfaction is 66.6% and working intention is 63.6%. (3) N staffs have more working intention than N1 staffs. The time consuming of direct care has positive correlation with the satisfying degree about nursing work. We expected this study might promote the quality of nursing care and decrease the turnover rate of nursing staffs.
